Peppers are key to a successful summer; many customers love the flavor of our unique peppers. We grow some bell peppers for stuffing, but mostly specialty peppers which pack a sweet tanginess not found in commercial supermarkets. These peppers are great for salads, sautés, and grilling. They are fun to pick and grow, as they turn red the longer they are left on the vine. When you venture to the farm you will find us in the three acre section behind the llama and horse barn.

Cucumbers and water melon are difficult to grow since we limit our pesticide program. They become infested with cucumber beetles which destroy the plants. You see here they are planted on blue plastic which is thought to confuse the wondering beetles when they are laying their eggs. Typically they lay the eggs in the soil line near the cucumber roots; the blue plastic deters them from the soil at the base of these plants making it easier for the plants to survive. When you venture to the farm you will find us in the three acre section behind the llama and horse barn.

We LOVE lettuce. We grow 32 varieties of lettuce from loose leaf, to romaine, to Boston bibs, to iceberg.
